Still going strong...

The girls were a little shaky having to play in 54 degree weather with a windchill of 48 degrees..... burr it was cold and rainy. We had to put on the long undershirts and tights. The girls played a good game in the cold weather. We managed to have almost 25 shots at goal and only allowed our opponents to 1 shot at goal. The girls took the win 7-0.

This thursday we have the battle of the undefeateds one team will have to go home with a loss unless we wind up with a draw? Win or lose we get a chance to play each other twice. Please make sure to be at the field by 5:30pm ready to warm up!! Get the girls pumped up and ready to give it their all.......

5-0 Way to go....

The girls took another victory. This time against Lonestar Red. It is always a rivalry against any Lubbock Teams and the girls really stepped up. They took the first half 5-0 and closed the game with a 13-0 shutout. The girls got to play several positions and were unstoppable.

I am very proud of all the girls.... No one expected them to make a team much less go 5-0 and score 35 points and only allow 2 points in those five games. There is still much work to do and to prepare for a Great Battle with Lonestar Blue which will also be undefeated by the time we play each other in a week and a half. If the girls continue to play hard and continue to work hard at practice they will be hard to BEAT!!

See yall at practice Monday and Thursday.....

Lets go get to 6-0 this sunday and prepare for the big showdown.........

4-0 What a start

We knew Dallas Texans and Alliance were going to be stronger this time and they were. They were both ready for us. They played us hard the first halves but as we have seen all season our girls are hard to beat the second half. We get stronger and faster the second half and that is a great asset to have. Most teams wear out the second half.

First game was against Alliance. They started strong and held us to 2 points the first half. Second half we made some adjustments and scored another four points. They managed to kick a high ball that our keeper managed to catch but her leverage took her a step back and the ref gave them the score. From my angle it looked like our keeper did not cross but that is neither here nor there.... Girls took the win. 6-1.

Second game was very exciting. Dallas Texans kept their strong keeper in the whole game and managed to get a 1-0 lead on us at halftime. We made some adjustments and they strategized not to lose by playing 6 girls deep on defense but we managed to spread the field and attack from both angles thus allowing us to score 4 unanswered points. The girls took the win 4-1.

Great Start 2-0

The girls got off to a great start this weekend! They went out to Midland and played two games. The weather cooperated the first game then the heat came in and slowed us down for the second game.

Dallas Texans put up a fight at first and held us to two points in the first half. The girls got their groove going the second half and won the game 8-0.

Alliance also put up a big fight the first half holding us to a 1-0 lead. The heat was hard on both teams but the girls endurance came through and they took the win 4-0.

It was a great effort from both the offense and the defense! The defense came through with two shutouts..... The offense managed to score 12 points in two games!! Awesome job Arsena!!

We play the same two teams this sunday in our house. I think they will adjust and play a little harder but we will be ready!! See yall at practice........ I am working on a highlight video and will post it by wednesday latest.....

Great Job on the Car Wash the team raised almost $600. Thanks to those who participated and to those that got their cars washed!!!

Plano Quarterfinalist

Congrats to LAFC 00 White. The girls played a really tough tournament against some of the best teams in Dallas. They managed to make it to the Quarterfinal playoffs!!

The 1st game against Andromeda 2000 (Plano) was a great start. The girls scored in the first minute of the game and went on to win 5-0.

The 2nd game against Azteca (Kansas) looked like we were going to take a huge win. The girls scored 2pts in the first 4 minutes. Then after a score from our oppenents, it changed the momentum of the game (along with the high humidity from a mid-afternoon game in Dallas). The girls fought hard but were left leaving a 3-5 loss.

The 3rd game was set to be a good one. Dallas Juventus was undefeated and needed to beat us to advance. All we had to do was get a win to secure a place in the playoffs or get a tie and see if we could get in on a wildcard spot. After a fierce battle and missed shots at goal, the girls walked off with a tie and had to check updates from GotSoccer to see if we would advance on a wildcard. With a little luck and lots of help from above, the scores came in (along with the email) notifying us of our next game in the Quarterfinals!

The quarterfinal game was against a top seed in the whole tournament, the Mustangs FC. They were undefeated and ready to battle. After a slow start by our girls, it looked like there was no chance . Then, after a few adjustments, we were able to hold at halftime with a score of 0-2. The second half was a different story, we were able to stay on their end the whole half but only able to score 1 goal, thus leaving with a loss of 1-2.

The Mustangs went on to win the Semifinals and the Championship!!

Plano Labor Day Tournament

Gibbs Keeton will begin Training sessions with us on Tuesday. We are looking to start the week of August 14th. Location is John Walker Stadium. Texas Tech Womens field. Off 10th st across UMC.

Team Manager - Artie Corelis will be getting us the number to the hotel that we will use for the Labor Day Weekend Tourny in Plano.

As soon as we get more information I will pass it along. We made $400 from the LAFC 00 Team dinner at 50th Street Caboose!! Great job Parents/Friends. That will help with the uniform cost.

We could use another sponsor for wind pants/warm ups. The fall weather will be here and the girls will need to stay warm. If you know of anyone willing to sponsor let us know!!

Candle orders are due this tuesday I believe, you might check with the fundraiser chairperson - Tina Ramirez.

Girls are looking good in the scrimmages. These are great opportunities for the coaching staff to analyze the girls and see what we need to work on.

REMIND the girls that those that work hard at practice and scrimmage will be the ones to start the games and get the most playing time. Scrimmage performance is very important right now cause we are getting closer to setting positions...... This level of soccer is all performance based and those that do get starting positions will have to keep up their level or they will not start. They will be replaced and have to fight back for their position or playing time. Practicing at home on certain areas is key to the girls developing and excelling on certain skills!!
Our goal is to have every girl playing at a high level, that it does not matter who subs in and out cause they will come in as a strong player. Once we achieve that goal we will achieve greatness!!

Ball Handling Skills

Parents:

Please have the girls work on the following skills at home!
These skills were made last year and were referenced to our rec team! :)

If you will be out of town for any of the practice dates please text/email me so we will know your child will not be there.

Welcome! LAFC 00 White

Welcome to the blog! While we will have an official team website on the LAFC webpage, this is a great place where we can post videos (as Desi loves to do) and use up space that is not always available on the website for pictures, etc.
We will not post last names to keep the girls safe.
